How Captain Ron Handyman Got Started
Ron spent 30 years in the fire service and retired as a captain. Three decades of walking into other people's homes on the worst day they were having, where the job was always the same: show up, stay calm, do the work, don't make it worse.
Alongside that, he was building things. Forty-five years of construction, the kind you pick up on job sites and weekends and second shifts rather than in a classroom. Drywall, trim, tile, doors, decks, fixtures. If it goes in a house, he has put one in.
When he retired, the calls kept coming anyway. A neighbor with a door that wouldn't close. A friend of a friend with a running toilet nobody would drive out for. There turned out to be a whole category of work around the Grand Valley that's too small for a contractor and too much for a Saturday afternoon.
So in July 2026 he made it a business. Same standard as the fire house. Show up when you say you will, tell people the truth about what it needs, and leave the place better than you found it.
